A Touch of Class has been providing auctions services for Community Living West Nipissing Galas for the past 10 years.   The extraordinary talents and passion of Barb and Krista Richards as well as their stage presence have left our guests wanting more.  So much so that we now reserve the ladies two years in advance before we even start planning our next event to ensure that they’re available as we know our Gala would not be a success without them.
We look forward to April 12th, 2014, our next Gala where once again Barb and Krista will work their magic for us!

I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing Barb Richards for over twenty five years. Of all the words I could use to describe Barb—energetic, helpful, benevolent, kind, considerate, caring, positive-- I believe the one I treasure most is friend. She is an amazing person who gives back much more than she ever takes—not only to the community in which she lives and operates her business A Touch of Class Auctions but to society as a whole. Barb also acts as a mentor to many groups and individuals who share her passion for helping those who are in need of some special care and she has inspired our church to increase our involvement with new outreach projects in our community. She not only provides ideas and enthusiasm, but contributes time and enthusiastic support.
Barb has been instrumental in creating the Senior Wish Association in Barrie. It is an incredible volunteer program that recognizes those folks who may not have anyone to care about them at special times in their lives.  Barb and Krista work tirelessly to make Barrie a better place to live and work.  I have every confidence that Barb and Krista bring the same high standards of integrity to their auction business as with every other endeavour with which they involve themselves. Their charitable work makes a significant difference to the community of Barrie.  I consider it an honour to be friends of people like Barb and Krista who genuinely care for people’s well-being and success.

Whenever I am asked if I know of someone who can help with their fundraising endeavours, I have one answer – the Touch of Class Auctions team!
I’ve had the privilege of working with ATOC for a few years now on various ventures. I am always impressed with their ability to engage a crowd; you’re having such a great time interacting with the auctioneers, you hardly realize that you’re actually continuously bidding on an item.
Recently, I had chaired an auction committee for a fundraising gala on behalf of a partner agency. ATOC was there to support me at every step; they attended our committee meetings, suggested ways to obtain auction items, and introduced us to different methods of selling those items through an auction.  At the end of the gala the auction funds captured were 10-50% more than what we estimated we would get for the items – to charitable organizations that result is immeasurable!
If you’re looking to raise funds for your organization I highly recommend you make a call to A Touch of Class Auctions – you’ll be glad you did!

To Whom It May Concern,
ecently the Rotary Club of Innisfil had a fantastic day of fun and fellowship with family and friends.  It started off with taking the Rotary Train through Sandycove Acres in their annual Canada Day Parade.  As a tradition it also has the incoming President hosting a BBQ for the members and their families after the Parade.  We however, added a special feature to the day when we asked Shawn and Krista, of A Touch of Class Auctions, to hold a fundraising auction.  What an enjoyable and entertaining time.  They work so well together, and because of this, it entertained young and old alike.  Comedy reigned but some much-needed funds were successfully raised.  This was not the first time we had Krista and Shawn work their magic.  In April of this year we held our first A Celebration By The Lake Gala, in honour of two Unsung Heroes of Innisfil.  Throughout the evening, Shawn and Krista created an atmosphere of giving and entertainment.  It turned out to be a successful fundraising event and we expect to use A Touch of Class for many years to come!

Krista and her team have worked the Kempenfelt Rotary’s Taste the World event all 5 years.  We try to change things around each year, but the one thing that we will not change is our auctioneer.  There is no doubt in our mind that Krista adds to the entertainment of the event – she does a great job of working with the crowd and the sponsors.  She also seems to have a great gift of extracting more money for each of the auction items, which, of course, is beneficial to our charity work.

A Touch of Class Auctions has supported Taste The World for five years. Krista Richards brings such enthusiasm to the stage and helps to engage our Emcee and our donors. She takes pride in our event, offers support through her experience and handles last minute changes brilliantly. With thanks to Krista and A Touch of Class Auctions, the live auctions have helped to raise over $60,000 to support our local community. All in good fun, our guests know that unless you are prepared to part with some serious cash...don’t catch Krista’s eye!

I have been working with and have known Krista and Barb Richards for almost 15 years now. I first met Krista and Barb at a charity event where they had donated their services as auctioneers for the night. Right off the bat, I was blown away by their professionalism, their ease with the audience, and their ability to get people to open their wallets for charity! After that event, I continued to host and work with Krista and Barb in conjunction with countless charities including Ducks Unlimited, The Food Bank, The Run for the Cure, The Women’s Shelter, and many more. Each time I have worked with Krista and Barb, I have been even more impressed.

Their contacts list is endless, their willingness to help those less fortunate is boundless, and their commitment to their community is inspiring. Perhaps their most impressive feat as a team was founding the Legends & Legacy Gala, an annual gala for women dedicated to raising funds for local causes. Organizing this Gala every year was a monumental undertaking for Barb and Krista but they always pulled it off with aplomb and class. This event became the event of the season and Barb and Krista moved mountains every year to make it bigger and better than ever. To list the many attributes and accomplishments that Krista and Barb Richards can boast as a team, would take all day and then some. They are a joy to work with, a pleasure to know, and continue to be an example of what every woman and member of this community should aspire to.

Every time I work with Touch of Class Auctions they are professional, entertaining and get the highest bid possible for the non-profit organizations I fundraise for. From myself, Theatre by the Bay and COPE Service Dogs, thank you Barb, Krista, Shawn and the whole team. It's always a pleasure to work with you and we enjoy the success you provide for our live auctions.

I have worked with Barb Richards on several occasions. She gives each project her undivided attention, each event becomes a showcase of your ideas through Barb's creative mind. Details matter to her, whether it's an event that only needs to raise awareness or a gala that needs to raise thousands of dollars the event comes to a successful end because Barb cares.

Krista and Shawn have helped us at Killarney Beach Public School for many fundraising events.  They are amazing at what they do; everyone will have a great time.  As a team they are so funny you would not believe how entertaining the evening has been, and wish it would never end.  In the planning stages they are extremely helpful in suggesting how to make the event work and suggest the plans that will work best.  We have raised money for our school with the truly awesome support of the most giving couple who will do everything they can to help your event earn as much as possible.  Thank you to Krista and Shawn for all your support.
